Welcome to our Great Wisconsin Birdathon fundraising page! The Baraboo Rangers are excited to count local birds on Monday, May 11, and believe they're important to us in many ways. We want to help ensure that birds who spend all or part of the year in Wisconsin have all the resources they need to survive and thrive. Big thanks to the Natural Resources Foundation for running this amazing event and splitting the proceeds with BRPA for our local birding initiatives.
This year the Baraboo Rangers will go out individually to safely follow Covid-19 protocols. Social Distancing in our case is not far from the team sentiment as we tend to discover more species with our quiet methods. The idea of assigning specific locations to cover the wide variety of habitat also raises awareness for just how important our Baraboo Hills are for successful bird nesting. We'll visit numerous natural areas, find the birds that live there, and share our love of birds with the community.
Please consider supporting us with a pledge per species or donation. No amount is too small--even small contributions add up! This year the Great Wisconsin Birdathon aims to raise $100,000 for bird conservation in Wisconsin. Your contribution supports the priority projects of the Bird Protection Fund.
The Great Wisconsin Birdathon has raised over $500,000 for Wisconsin's birds since 2012. We have done so much, but there is still so much more to do. Thank you for joining me in making a sustainable future for Wisconsin's birds!
Good luck Rangers!
