Welcome to Jen's Wehr Warblers Great Wisconsin Birdathon fundraising page! We want to help ensure that birds who spend all or part of the year in Wisconsin have all the resources they need to survive and thrive.
To raise support and awareness for Wisconsin's birds, I've joined this walkathon-style fundraiser in which my teammates and I will try to find as many bird species as possible on Sunday May 24, 2020. We'll visit our favorite Wisconsin natural areas-- Wehr Nature Center and Mangan Woods to find the birds that live there, and share our love of birds with the community. We are a bunch of friends, birders and colleagues who are very dedicated to bird monitoring to help our birds... but also have fun.
Where will YOUR donation go?? Right here in your community. Look what we have done so far:
Conservation action rests in the hands of individuals like us to protect the birds we love and their habitats. Despite discouraging reports about habitat loss, invasive species, window collisions and pesticide perils, there are encouraging success stories that show we can make a difference for the birds we love:
Please consider supporting me with a pledge per species or donation. No amount is too small--even small contributions add up! This year the Great Wisconsin Birdathon aims to raise $100,000 for bird conservation in Wisconsin.
Your contribution supports the priority projects of the Bird Protection Fund while HALF of funds raised by our team will also go to Wehr Nature Center for bird monitring upgrades! That's literally right here in MKE County!
The Great Wisconsin Birdathon has raised over $500,000 for Wisconsin's birds since 2012. We have done so much, but there is still so much more to do. Thank you for joining me in making a sustainable future for Wisconsin's birds!
GO TEAM JEN's WEHR WARBLERS!
WE CAN DO IT! It takes a caring team to make a difference to help our birds.
