Great Wisconsin Birdathon 2018

"If you take care of birds, you take care of most of the environmental problems in the world."

--- Thomas Lovejoy, Conservation Biologist and "Godfather of Biodiversity"

Why Birdathon?

We believe that birds are valuable and NEED OUR HELP. The Natural Resources Foundation's Great Wisconsin Birdathon unites thousands of birders, conservationists, and people across Wisconsin who cherish our state's wildlife and natural wonders. Each spring individuals and organizations create teams to find as many bird species as possible in a single day, while raising funds to support priority bird conservation projects in Wisconsin.

Read the 2017 Birdathon Report for all the stories.

Our Fundraising Goal

The Great Wisconsin Birdathon is an annual walkathon-style fundraiser that has raised over $300,000 for bird protection since 2012! In fact, we raised over $91,000 for the Bird Protection Fund in 2017 alone!

Since 2018 has been designated The Year of the Bird, we aim to do more for bird conservation than ever. Our goal: Raise $100,000 through team donations and Bird Protection Fund field trips!
